Twisted Strands Episode 146: Already too darn hot.
Welcome to Episode 146!
Works in Progress:
Fringe by Jessica Bolof using Tee-cake yarn from Skacel and size 13 needles.
Sleep Hat test knit for Coggie of High Fiber Diet podcast. DK weight yarn and size 7 needles.
Blurred Lines Socks by Megan Williams
Simply socks yarn co poste yarn buckeye size 1, 2.25mm
Button Yoke Cardigan by Sandi Prosser, using size 9 US circular needles and dpns, and Plymouth Encore worsted.
Finished!
I finished the loop batt, yay! I hope it's not that bad, I know I made a few mistakes in chain-plying it.
I finished sewing my very first box bag! No seams inside, so yay! It came out very small though.
Stuff and Junk
Housework? Stairs are swept, many pinecones picked up in the back yard.
Garden is doing ok, my radishes are coming up nicely.
What the hay? I rode Toby again. He was good up to a point, he wanted to just trot really fast when I wanted him to canter! Jerk.
Movies and stuff
The Great Gatsby- meh. 2 skeins, because it was pretty.
The Cars that ate Paris? So cool and strange. Like a Twilight Episode, but more cars. 3 skeins.

I’m still spinning the beautiful Loop batt that I purchased during Rhinebeck.
Finished!
Nothing.
Stuff and Junk
Housework? Bad health this weekend, nothing much going on housework wise.
Garden is doing ok, my radishes are coming up nicely.
What the hay? I was too sick to ride this Saturday, it was a lousy weekend.
Movies and stuff
Nothing special. I have learned that when mom asks me if I've seen something before, she wants to watch something else, haha.

Twisted Strands Episode 144: So much Wool Walk
Welcome to Episode 144!
Works in Progress:
Fringe by Jessica Bolof using Tee-cake yarn from Skacel and size 13 needles.
Sleep Hat test knit for Coggie of High Fiber Diet podcast. DK weight yarn and size 7 needles.
Blurred Lines Socks by Megan Williams
Simply socks yarn co poste yarn buckeye size 1, 2.25mm
Button Yoke Cardigan by Sandi Prosser, using size 9 US circular needles and dpns, and Plymouth Encore worsted.
I’m still spinning the beautiful Loop batt that I purchased during Rhinebeck.
Finished!
Nothing.
Stuff and Junk
Housework? Not much going on there.
Garden is doing ok, my radishes are coming up nicely.
What the hay? 4th lesson, this time I rode Toby. The last time I cantered, he was on the wrong lead and it felt awful. Unfortunately, he is a bit of a steamroller when he gets going, so I didn't get him back to the trot to change leads.
Movies and stuff
Jackass Presents “Bad Grandpa,” sadly it was an attempt at doing a show like Jackass but making it with a plot. 2 skeins, mostly for the last few minutes of the film.

Twisted Strands Episode 143: Bunnies!
Welcome to Episode 142!
Works in Progress:
Fringe by Jessica Bolof using Tee-cake yarn from Skacel and size 13 needles.
Button Yoke Cardigan by Sandi Prosser, using size 9 US circular needles and dpns, and Plymouth Encore worsted.
I’m still spinning the beautiful Loop batt that I purchased during Rhinebeck.
Finished!
Lil' Bunny Cupcake by Rachel Hoe
Stuff and Junk
Housework? I tilled the garden, it's still too cold in the mornings to plant any tender seedlings or seeds. I'm hoping to do that in the first weekend of May. The plumbers we used to use screwed up the installation of a cheap kitchen faucet, so we have new plumbers and a better quality faucet in the kitchen. I'm so glad it was fixed.
What the hay? 3rd lesson, this time I rode Cleo. It was a good lesson, and for some reason I feel more confident.
Movies and stuff
RIPD, I liked it, it was entertaining. 3 skeins!
Insidious 2, was a bunch of crap. 1 skein.

Twisted Strands Episode 142: Cold Rainy Night
Welcome to Episode 142!
Works in Progress:
Fringe by Jessica Bolof using Tee-cake yarn from Skacel and size 13 needles.
Lil' Bunny Cupcake by Rachel Hoe
Button Yoke Cardigan by Sandi Prosser, using size 9 US circular needles and dpns, and Plymouth Encore worsted.
I’m still spinning the beautiful Loop batt that I purchased during Rhinebeck.
Finished!
Azuay byTaiga Hilliard, using Lion Brand's Martha stewart roving and size 17 needles.
Stuff and Junk
Housework? The carrots and radishes I planted are starting to show up. It looks like I may have to replant the carrots though, they are sitting all around the edge of the earthbox. That can't be good
What the hay? 2nd lesson, got to meet my teacher, Libby. I rode Toby and while it was rough getting him to move, once he did it turned into a fun ride. Even got to canter him! A bit bouncy.

Twisted Strands Episode 141: The disorganized crafter
Welcome to Episode 141!
New Yarnz
Desert Vista Dyeworks self striping Dark Chocolate Covered Cherries. Fingering weight, lovely.
Someone mysteriously bought me a lovely skein of Knitivity Phydlbitz sock in Sensatorium. It's beautiful, thank you!
Works in Progress:
Fringe by Jessica Bolof using Tee-cake yarn from Skacel and size 13 needles.
Azuay byTaiga Hilliard, using Lion Brand's Martha stewart roving and size 17 needles.

Finished!
nothin'
Stuff and Junk
Jackass 3.5, I like it, mostly because of the male nudity and unabashed laughter of the gang there. 3 skeins, and I won't be telling you which of the above it's for.
The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer. Feh. It really wasn't all that good, scary or anything. 1 skein!
Housework? I have been playing in the garden, and have planted carrots and radishes.
What the hay? First lesson of the year for me, and I'm still so sore, ugh. Cleo and I got along well, it was a fun but exhausting ride. Looking forward to more!

Twisted Strands Episode 140: Mondays can hurt.
Welcome to Episode 140!
Works in Progress:
Azuay byTaiga Hilliard, using Lion Brand's Martha stewart roving.
Button Yoke Cardigan by Sandi Prosser, using size 9 US circular needles and dpns, and Plymouth Encore worsted.

Tiny Computer, by Anna Hrachovec using Lion brand bonbons and size 2 needles. Sorry, but I gave it away today, but I took a picture!
Stuff and Junk
I've been watching a lot of NCIS while I'm stitching away. I have a small fictional character crush on Gibbs.
Housework? Mostly just laundry getting done.
With luck, the What the Hay? segment should be back if I can get the riding lesson schedule I want.

Twisted Strands Episode 139: The long, slow work in progress
Welcome to Episode 139!
Works in Progress:
Curse-breaker 9.0 by Michele DuNaier , size US H hook, ella rae lace merino, nearly done!
Button Yoke Cardigan by Sandi Prosser, using size 9 US circular needles and dpns, and Plymouth Encore worsted.
I’m still spinning the beautiful Loop batt that I purchased during Rhinebeck.
Stuff and Junk
I’ve watched two different things and completely forgot to mention them this episode. First off was a real stinker. Disaster Movie. I wouldn’t even give it one skein.
I also watched the mini-series Steven King’s The Shining. It was much more faithful to the book, naturally. I don’t know why I expect movies to follow a book exactly, I should just give that up. I would give this remake a 4 skein review.
Housework? Since I’ve been sick, there hasn’t been much cleaning done. Now that I’m feeling better, I hope to get some spring cleaning done!
With luck, the What the Hay? segment should be back if I can get the riding lesson schedule I want.
While grocery shopping, I found a copy of Nordic Knitting, 29 small projects for only 5 bucks. It has many pretty designs by one of my favorite designers, Martin Storey.
Linda Versaci is a lovely designer that I had the pleasure of meeting at Trillium Yarns a few weeks ago. Her designs feature textural stitches in sweaters that are traditional or differently shaped. She also has accessories amongst her designs. Check out her page- http://www.versaciknits.com
